Supporting Trauma Informed Environments (Half day training)

Start: 12th Feb 2026 1:00pm

The Virtual School and Education Psychology team are hosting a session that moves beyond trauma-awareness to explore how schools and classrooms can embed trauma‑informed practices in everyday teaching. Practitioners will gain practical strategies, toolkits, and checklists to create safe, welcoming, and therapeutic environments that support children and young people’s attention, behaviour, social skills, and emotional regulation. The training will also consider whole‑school culture and staff wellbeing, equipping participants with actionable steps to foster resilience and positive outcomes within children and young people of all ages.

Please note, this is a free event and includes refreshments throughout the afternoon. Lunch is not provided but the venue will be available from 12pm for those that wish to arrive earlier and bring their own lunch and lunch.

The session is aimed for DTs, DSLs, SENCOs and Headteachers, however all professionals that work with children are welcome to join.

Booking is essential - link was sent out within Autumn 2 newsletter but can also be requested by contacting the Virtual School & College: virtual.school@halton.gov.uk
